Job Description:
We are looking for a person to serve as an administrative assistant to the Senior Pastor. This person will work part-time, Tuesday through Friday, and serve as the primary support person for the Pastor and his administrative needs, as well as helping with general administration of the church. The job will have flexibility for a portion of the hours (4 hrs) every week that can be suited for the applicant’s schedule. We are seeking someone who is very detail oriented, organized, and also enjoys working closely with many different volunteers.
Characteristics & Key Competencies:
  • Must possess strong organizational skills; Self-motivated
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, file organization; Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop an asset, but not required)
  • Proficient in using social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Ability to create and maintain processes
  • Is personable, engaging, and enjoys working with people
  • Ability to anticipate, problem solve, and plan events and programs in tandem with the Pastor / Eldership


Pastoral Administration (30%)
  • Manages Pastoral calendar & schedule (appointments / scheduling changes / prioritizing needs)
  • Responds to queries and requests on behalf of Pastor as is appropriate Administrates for new programs, conferences and new church initiatives Communicates with Deacon / Elder board on behalf of Pastor
Church Administration (70%)
  • Co-ordinates weekly bulletin / e-bulletin Reception for church office (Tuesday – Friday)
  • Co-ordinates use of church rooms & public activities
  • Creates service schedules for Sunday Volunteers
  • Weekly social media & website maintenance / sermon updates
  • Create handouts, etc for other ministries
  • Administration of master schedule of events / meetings / conferences / ministries
  • Book keeping skills (an asset, not required), Expense reports
  • Graphic design basics
  • Water plants, pickup/sort mail & minimal occasional cleaning
  • Office manager, monitor, reorder/shop to stock church supplies (janitorial, kitchen, office)
  • Administrative experience is preferred (or comparable experience in another job)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office in an office environment. Experience with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop is a preferred asset, not required.
